Make-A-Wish^® Arizona

SCOTTSDALE (May 30, 2023) — Make-A-Wish Arizona is excited to welcome three Arizona leaders to its Board of Directors, totaling 35 individuals who are dedicating volunteer time and efforts toward granting wishes for children with critical illnesses.  

Added to the Board of Directors are Rahul Chawla MD MA, Pediatric Intensivist and Pediatric Emergency Room Physician at Banner Children’s at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center; Lorraine Murrietta, Director of Finance & HR at Loffa Interactive Group, and Dawnyel Smink, Chief Executive Officer at Canyon Lands Insurance. 

“Adding a diverse roster of individuals from around the Valley helps our chapter and our future wish kids as we work toward our vision of granting every eligible wish in Arizona,” said Fran Mallace, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. “Our outstanding current Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome these amazing individuals who are giving their time, energy and heart to grant wishes in Arizona.”   

Make-A-Wish Arizona’s Board of Directors has been key in helping the team to fund and execute the chapter goal to grant 420 wishes this fiscal year.  

“Our Board of Directors is active in outreach efforts to reach more eligible children in Arizona,” said Mallace. “With 100 percent of our funds coming from direct donations, we are excited to welcome these new board members who will become integral in helping with our goal to reach all eligible wish kids in the state of Arizona.”
