Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis two weeks after she was born, Josie has still grown up quite active.
She enjoys soccer, rides a bike, and fishes with her dad. Her doctor is pleased with how healthy Josie is despite her condition. Her parents and siblings are very supportive, and everyone pitches in to help Josie when she’s feeling bad.  Josie loves art, food and music, so when she received a wish, she was very keen to go to New York City.Â
Josie's favorite part of the trip was going to see musicals on Broadway. She liked the The Lion King best but also enjoyed The Little Shop of Horrors. Of course, Josie visited the MOMA and the Met to see all the famous art inside. Her favorite restaurant was Peachy Keen, a 70's-style diner. Josie said she ate a lot of pizza and bagels on the trip, but all the food there was amazing. The family also visited Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square and Coney Island. Â They said that despite the stereotype, almost everyone they met in New York was nice.Â
They were pretty lucky with the weather, but it did rain one day. Josie's mom said that was her favorite day because everyone was just happy and smiling. The whole family just felt so connected, and they could slow down and enjoy every moment together. "It was an experience we'll never forget," she said.Â
