Wish kid Pilar is an amazing teen with a gentle and thoughtful spirit. From Waxhaw, North Carolina, this 17-year-old girl loves Charlotte FC soccer, swimming, and her science classes at school. In her free time, she tunes in to Taylor Swift, Gilmore Girls reruns, or cracks open a Harry Potter book. Her #1 passion, though, is horses. Riding trails and show jumping have filled her weekends. The last thing this young girl was thinking about was having cancer.

Pilar’s cancer diagnosis has meant countless doctor visits and grueling treatments in the hospital, taking her away from her horse, as well as friends and school. Her goal is to rebuild her strength and health to continue her passion for horses. Pilar’s favorite past time of being with and caring for horses is where she finds peace. When she learned she would be granted a wish, she knew it would be horse related. Pilar’s wish is to have a golf cart.

From show jumping to the more recent addition of showing her horse, Pilar spends a lot of time at equestrian centers when she can. A golf cart with lights, turn signals, and a basket would be the PERFECT addition to her favorite hobby and help save her strength for the horses. Make it purple and add a nameplate, and you’ve got a young woman with a strong will to express herself and desire to beat cancer. Happy trails, Pilar!
