Make-A-Wish New Jersey Macys Ocean County Mall Welcome 4-Year-Old Wish Recipient Local Fire Department
December 18, 2018
Monroe Township, NJ - On December 18, wish kid Faith of Toms River celebrated the season of giving by delivering over 1,400 holiday letters to Macy’s Ocean County Mall in Toms River, New Jersey. The collection of letters to Santa was the result of a community that has rallied behind Faith to help her family in their efforts to help make future wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. This year marks the 11th annual Macy’s Believe Campaign benefiting Make-A-Wish. The Macy’s Believe campaign invites “Believers” of all ages to send their letters to Santa at a Believe station at their local Macy’s store or online at macys.com/believe. For every letter received now through December 24, Macy’s will donate $1, up to $1 million, to Make-A-Wish.
Four-year-old Faith was granted a wish in 2017. This year, Faith and her family, whose father is Chief of the Ocean Beach Fire Company in the Toms River Fire Department, began collecting letters to Santa to deliver to the Believe Mailbox at Macy’s. Multiple fire companies joined their efforts in collecting letters from the local community and on Tuesday evening, fire trucks from participating companies arrived at the Ocean County Mall outside Macy’s to deliver the letters to the Believe Mailbox, led by Faith and her family.
"It’s hard to ‘believe’ we’re celebrating the 11th Anniversary of the Macy’s Believe Campaign!” shared Tom Weatherall, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish New Jersey. “This holiday season, we once again thank our dear friends at Macy’s for their unwavering belief in our mission. Thanks to their commitment, kids like Faith will experience the life-changing power of a wish, giving them hope, strength and joy when they need it most.”
Macy’s has donated more than $112 million to Make-A-Wish since 2003, including more than $17 million through its annual Believe campaign. This funding has helped grant thousands of wishes across the country, impacting entire communities.
