UND Softball honors Wish Kid ahead of Sunday afternoon game
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - What may seem like a regular afternoon softball game was part of a dream come true for one Grand Forks girl on Sunday.
This afternoon, 8-year-old Everly Peterson had the opportunity to be a part of the UND Softball team lineup. The opportunity was part of an effort in honor of World Wish Month which recognizes the first wish granted by Make-A-Wish back in April 1980.

Make-A-Wish grants Aacen Huck his wish for a pontoon
Because medication has proven to not truly help Aacen, he will have a corpus callosotomy on March 5,2024 , which is a surgery that will ultimately split his brain in half by severing the corpus callosum.
The hope is this surgery will greatly reduce or possibly stop the drop seizures.
So, with such a big surgery around the corner, Make-A-Wish North Dakota, local community members and Aacen’s family and friends jumped came together to make his wish come true.

Wahpeton third graders support Make-A-Wish North Dakota
Wahpeton Elementary School collectively raised $3,032 for Make-A-Wish North Dakota. Make-A-Wish North Dakota is the local branch of the beloved charitable organization. Wishes are available to youth between ages 2-18 and can include trips, experiences and improvements.
