Make-A-Wish® South Carolina Announces Three New Appointments to Board of Directors

Statewide Nonprofit Proud to Welcome Ben Walker, Shayla Wilson and Debbie Tucker to Serve on Chapter’s Board

Statewide, SC (November 16, 2020) – Make-A-Wish South Carolina announced today that it has appointed Ben Walker, vice president of southeast commercial division of Gregory Pest Solutions/Terminix Global Holdings, Debbie Tucker, vice president of talent and organizational development at Hubbell Incorporated, and Shayla Wilson, supply chain metier leader for Michelin Research & Development Center to its board of directors.

“We are overjoyed to add these accomplished professionals and advocates to our board.  I’m confident Ben, Debbie, and Shayla will each move our mission forward with excellence” stated Misty Farmer, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina.

The new directors join Make-A-Wish South Carolina at an exciting time as we work to re-envision and innovate across all departments of our organization due to the effects of COVID-19. With more wishes waiting than ever before, hope is essential for the wish families we serve. The board is vital to driving our cross-channel strategy forward and build deeper relationships with constituents to fulfill our purpose of granting wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Farmer remarked, “Make-A-Wish South Carolina's board regularly evaluates the composition of the chapter to ensure it includes the appropriate policies, strategies and perspectives necessary to drive growth for our mission. They are critical to our vision of transforming the life of every eligible child through a wish-come-true.”

The addition of these directors complements our board of directors' skills and experiences, and we are confident they will provide valuable viewpoints as we continue to execute our strategy. We look forward to their contributions and are excited they chose to help transform lives within Make-A-Wish South Carolina.
